The Karaganda region became a platform for a large-scale geological exploration project in 2023, with Minerals Operating (MO) as the key executor. The project covered gold-bearing Aktas I and Aktas II deposits, demonstrating the high professional level of domestic geological explorers.
Minerals Operating specialists developed a comprehensive methodology for studying the territory, which included several key areas of work. The main goal of the research was to create a detailed mapping of the deposits' geological structure and assess their mineral resource potential.
The first stage was surface core drilling, which provided informative core samples. Drilling was carried out using modern equipment with diamond drill bits, ensuring high accuracy and representativeness of the results.
Geological support of the project included:
Detailed mapping of geological structures
Comprehensive analysis of mineralogical composition
Assessment of industrial development prospects
Simultaneously with the main work, MO specialists conducted geotechnical drilling to determine the physical and mechanical characteristics of rocks and assess the stability of geological structures.
Upon completion of the research cycle, Minerals Operating geologists prepared a comprehensive report, including:
Three-dimensional geological deposit models
Maps of promising areas
Recommendations for further territory development
The obtained materials create a reliable basis for subsequent development of the deposits by Turan Resources, which plans to build a gold extraction factory with a capacity of 1.2 million tons of ore per year.
The project implemented by Minerals Operating demonstrates the high potential of domestic geological exploration companies in studying and evaluating mineral resources. The professionalism of MO specialists allowed not only collecting unique geological information but also creating a reliable foundation for future industrial development of the Aktas deposits.
